The son of a preacher man, Steve first came to prominence in the steel city of Sheffield, UK where he immersed himself in the thriving music scene working with the likes of Finlay Quaye and Mark Brydon of Moloko. Soon after, Steve was brought into the PRESENCE project - alongside Shara Nelson of Massive Attack fame by legendary DJ/ house music producer Charles Webster making "a seriously great album - 11/10"- DJ Magazine, which includes ‘Better Day’ & ‘Future Love’.

Since that time, Steve’s reputation has grown within the music industry and has written / performed for other important artists including: - BASEMENT JAXX, MOLOKO, XPRESS 2, and also with CASSIUS with whom he wrote and performed the now legendary ‘Sound Of Violence’ which was a US Billboard #1 smash.

Steve also finds time to write songs for Italian dance maestros STARCHASER with whom he had the European smash ‘Falling Star’ & has performed their future release ‘Fate’. Another respected outfit are BLACK SPIDER who had a smash with the Edwards penned ‘Heart Of The Sun’ and are due to release another Edwards gem, ‘Walls Of Science’ on the legendary Blanco y Negro label.

Steve has recently added his considerable writing & vocal talents to more involved projects such as the BENT album ‘ARIELS (MoS) and the critically acclaimed album ‘TROUBLE from KINGS OF TOMORROW (Defected).

By far, one of Steve’s biggest tracks to date is the now massive anthem ‘Watch The Sunrise’ with Swedish uber house producer, Axwell, which is included on all the biggest comps worldwide. The pair will drop more bombs in the near future so look out.

Steve is now effectively head hunted by the cream of dance music production houses for his imaginative writing & unique voice. He is currently working with Michael Gray, has just finished a ‘future top ten’ single with Dab Hands entitled ‘D.Y.O.T’ and has written & performed 3 songs for Bob Sinclar’s upcoming album, which includes the glorious ‘Eco House’ anthem, ‘World, Hold On’ which is already being bootlegged & is the follow-up to the worldwide smash hit Love Generation.

In addition to this, Steve’s track ‘Big Strong Love’ has just been included on the forthcoming MAW Soul Heaven comp and there will be a solo single ‘Thru The Night’ coming out on DTPM in the near future, not to mention that Steve is one third of the new, electro hip-house hooligans Ape Generals whose mash up of Buffalo Stance titled ‘Padded Bra’ is set for release on Nebula.

Steve has also been remixing tracks for the likes of Mr. Timothy ft Inaya Day – Glamorous Life, Kelly Llorenna – Nobody Like You & Danni Minogue – Perfection amongst others.

In constant demand internationally as a singer/songwriter/producer, Steve is signed to a worldwide publishing deal through Universal Music and runs his own Big Strong Love & Northern Elektrix labels.
